We are a non-profit organization committed to teaching the youth of Delaware andMaryland the art of colorguard and drum line. We have also been hit very hard by this economic crisis. We have many families that either one or both parents are not employed at the moment. We are trying to help our children pay their dues so they can continue to participate in our sport even though their parents are no longer able to pay. Each member comes to practice 2 to 4 nights per week. By doing this, these children are staying off the streets and out of trouble by their being at these colorguard/drum line practices. During the months of January through May, our three groups travel to the Pennsylvania-Delaware-New Jersey-Maryland area to compete against other similar units and are judged on how well they perform their routines.
Our organization provides transportation to and from practices and to these competitions. We teach these children discipline, sportsmanship, responsibility, and teamwork, as well as their being a colorguard marching member. As a colorguard member they learn how to incorporate dance with the art of spinning flags, sabers and rifles. They perform a themed show to audiences in the tri-state area, where they compete against other children in their division.
